Meet Erica Bachelor
#FeatureFriday is where we feature a top young professional from within our community. For the month of March, our focus will be highlighting key women that create an impact in our South Florida community. We look forward to introducing you to some local leaders.
Erica Bachelor is the founder of the Rekoop, the President of the Brendon P. Bachelor Foundation, Brendon’s Duffels of Hope, and Principle of Marketing for Bachelor Companies.
Erica was born in Louisville, Kentucky, raised in St. Louis, Missouri., and eventually found her way to sunny South Florida. She attended Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, where she double majored in marketing and broadcasting. After college, Erica dove into the marketing industry and found much success, even helping to put together multimillion-dollar events for The Hardrock company.
Motivated by her longtime goal of landing her dream job with the E! Network, Erica moved back to LA, to pursue broadcasting. Within 2 months, she was working with E!, dominating the red carpet covering the Emmys, the Golden Globes, the SAG Awards, and even the Oscars. She then spent the next several years in La La Land, dabbling into acting, appearing in several regional and national commercials, as well as independent films and TV shows, even working with Vivica A. Fox and Gary Busey.
In 2014, Erica, entered the world of sports when she joined Back9Network, co-hosting the “The Turn,” the network’s flagship show about golf, pop culture, and news. Her work with Back9Network has given her the opportunity to interview the top in the golf and golf lifestyle industry.
Amidst the excitement of her expansive career, Erica was blindsided by an unexpected tragedy; the sudden death of her brother, Brendon. This loss not only emotionally struck Erica but also led her to completely reevaluate her life. Realizing that family is a vital part of life, Erica returned back home to work with family at Bachelor Companies. Erica is now the Principle of Marketing for Bachelor Companies, which owns and operates hotels, restaurants, and real estate including Brendon’s Catch 23, a Kentucky based seafood restaurant, which is set to open its second location in Brickell, later this year.
Dedicated to ensuring her brother’s legacy lives on, Erica started the Brendon P. Bachelor Foundation for Sports and Education and Brendon’s Duffels of Hope. While attending a symposium, she learned that foster kids are given trash bags to put all of their belongings in when they leave their homes, which can affect a child’s confidence and mental perception of themselves. Being affected by this, Erica founded Brendon’s Duffels of Hope, which provides personalized, ready to go duffles, that carries various things a child at any age would need.
Erica is also the founder of Rekoop, which aims to elevate your frequency to experience greater peace, joy, love and mental clarity with the use of natural and cruelty-free products.
Throughout her journey, Erica says that her trust in Christ has been an essential component in being able to get through tough times and ultimately discovering her purpose.
